The FEYSB Wrestling Program

Season at a Glance

Season Duration:

  • Advanced Youth/Travel Panthers - November (starts after Thanksgiving) - March
  • Little Panthers - January - Mach

Teams:

  • Advanced Youth/Travel Panthers - This is a competitive team that competes at weekly tournaments. Your wrestler does not have to commit to every tournament. We participate in two youth leagues, NEMWA and MYWAY. Our wrestlers have a chance to compete for state titles on an annual basis. Travel can be over 2+hour drives some weeks.

  • Little Panthers - Participate in 3-5 meets between mid-February and the end of March. Most meets are within a 1-hour drive. These groups start as separate practices in January but will combine into one practice once meets start.

  • Intermediate Panthers - Participate in 3-5 meets between mid-February and the end of March. Most meets are under a 1-hour drive. These groups start as separate practices in January but will combine into one practice once meets start.

Important to Know

Wrestling is a great foundation sport that will make your child a well-rounded athlete. We will focus on basic fundamentals and proven wrestling techniques in the development of our wrestlers.

We believe in a “Build them Up” philosophy where everyone is here to help each other get better. All groups focus on mastering body control.

Wrestling/learning games will be played in every practice. We believe in focusing on the fun of wrestling. As much fun as winning is, we want to see our wrestlers develop and grow as athletes. We will focus on positive attitudes, effort, and respect for self, teammates, and coaches.

Fully Equipped: FEYSB covers singlets for competition, warm-ups for all travel teams, and headgear as needed. Athletes are required to purchase their own wrestling shoes.
